The Recrystallization Refined Salt Factory
Considering the massive salt deposits in Semnan province, in 2003, Amlah Iran Mining Co started to construct a recrystallization refined salt factory with an annual capacity of 5,000 tons alongside the Garmsar Sodium Sulphate Factory.
With over 56 billion IRR of investment and the staff's relentless efforts, especially Garmsar Factory's technical team, this unit was completed in less than 18 months and launched in October 2004.
The Spain-based USF-HPD Products S. A. designed and supplied the machinery, equipment, and control system for this factory according to the latest European Union standards, and all the vaporization unit equipment were built from special alloys of Monel, titanium, and Uranus and are fully resistant to the hot salt solution.
This company's production process involves physical separation of chalk, the main impurity present in salt, resulting in very pure salt with a calcium magnesium content of less than 300 ppm, which is ideal for use in oil well drilling.
The recrystallization refined salt is produced at an annual capacity of 46,000 tons and is offered to the market under the Taban and Shoma brand names and the following types:
• Refined salt with anticaking additives for the food industry in 5 to 25 kg double-layered bags.
• Refined salt with anticaking and iodine additives for household consumption in various 550 gram to 2.5 kg packages.
• Pharmaceutical refined salt for hemodialysis and serum production
• Oil well drilling salt
This company has received the standard certification from the Iranian Institute of Standards and Industrial Research and a manufacturing permit from the Ministry of Health and Medical Education for its various salt products.
The company’s refined salt laboratory has received the accreditation license from the Iranian Institute of Standards and Industrial Research and the Partner Lab certificate in salt quality control from the Ministry of Health and Medical Education.
The company has also received the certificates of food health and safety (HACCP), quality assurance (ISO9001), and food safety management from the I.C.S. Institute of Britain.
